Conwy
A medieval walled town on the north Wales coast, dominated by the impressive Conwy Castle built by Edward I in the 13th century. The castle is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with the town walls that still encircle the historic center. Highlights include the Smallest House in Great Britain on the quay, the suspension bridge by Thomas Telford, Aberconwy House (the oldest townhouse in Wales), and Plas Mawr Elizabethan town house. Conwy makes a good base for exploring Snowdonia and the north Wales coast, with rail and coach connections to Llandudno, Bangor, and Chester.
