Innsbruck
Innsbruck is the capital of the Tyrol region, dramatically situated in a narrow Alpine valley with mountain peaks rising steeply on all sides. The historic Old Town is compact and walkable, centered on the famous Golden Roof — a late Gothic oriel window covered with 2,657 fire-gilded copper tiles. The city is surrounded by world-class ski resorts and offers easy access to the spectacular Dolomites to the south.
